Gang Reduction and Youth Development (GRYD)

El Centro Del Pueblo has established a multi-ethnic collaborative of grassroots agencies in the areas of Rampart, Hollywood, and Northeast. We provide social services by addressing cultural sensitivity and language barriers to improve the quality of life for the youth and families.

The Rampart 1, 2, Hollywood and Northeast Gang Reduction and Youth Development (GRYD) program is part of an intensive effort to implement youth development and reduce the influence of gangs in the lives of our youth. El Centro Del Pueblo (ECDP) is the lead agency for Rampart, Hollywood and Northeast areas.

Eligibility for GRYD Prevention is determined through a questionnaire aimed at youth between the ages of 10 and 15. If the youth is eligible they will receive services for 6 months to a year.

The GRYD programs work with “at risk” youth by providing the following services:

  • Family Case Management
  • Genograms
  • Individual & Family Meetings
  • Mentoring
  • Youth Activities
  • Linkage to additional services

Community Partners

Our GRYD teams collaborate with KYCC, Peace Over Violence (POV), CCNP, LAUSD, Charter Schools, Children’s Hospital, Heluna Health, Healing Urban Barrios, Community Warriors 4 Peace and LAPD in Rampart, Northeast and Hollywood.
